On August 14th of 2009, the NTS established the \'Tax Advocacy\' and \'Rights Protection Request\' in endeavour to protect taxpayers\' rights. The Tax Advocacy can suspend a tax audit when it is considered to violate a taxpayer\'s rights when the taxpayer appeals for the Rights of Protection Request which has become effective since October 26th.
Last week, the Tax Advocacy ordered suspension of a tax audit for the first time after enforcement of the Rights Protection Request.
